Pursuit, skirmishers

Hello,

1. Do reserve units (3rd and subsequent rows) participate in the pursuit stage of the battle? It’s a bit unclear what exactly happens during that stage.

2. It seems that archers are always deployed first among support units, even when there are superior units like horse archers in the army. Horse archers have 9 ranged attack and ranged defense, while archers have 8 ranged attack. Additionally, horse archers have a flanking modifier of 3. This means you can’t keep spare archers in your army because they will always replace horse archers. Which parameter determines the deployment order of skirmisher units?

Regards,
MG

2. I got the answer that it was the strongest units that got placed first, which is different from best ranged rating.

Thanks for your reply. Seems like its the same as with full cav armies, if any infantry is present it is deployed from center then cav, same with horse archers. So to use them properly they have to be only skirmishers available.

1. To clarify my question:

Quoting manual:
The winner will then inflict extra losses to the defeated, with these first taken as efficiency losses then as outright losses. Thus an army with all its units exhausted at the end of a battle will be very vulnerable in the pursuit phase. The damage inflicted in the pursuit phase is related to the flanking rating of each unit. Thus heavy infantry and
phalanxes will inflict relatively few losses at this stage but cavalry and skirmishers will be very effective.
"Is related to flanking rating of each unit" including or excluding reserve units.
For example adding 50lc to army [being in reserve] will increase damage in that stage or only modifier from activly fighting units [two rows] counts?
Is damage inflicted in pursuit capped to certain value?
