You don't have to take any English Def Sp, so don't.
Better off taking the Welsh Ally of up to 32 Unprot Off Sp , give you some clout with the Foot instead of the woeful Def Sp.

Or alternatively, take the Irish Ally for as many Heavy weapons Superior & Average than you can wave a stick at!
But suspect if you're playing true to the Hammer of the Scots, it should be as many Welsh as you can get, 2-3 BG's of Kn, or 2 Kn/1 Cav, 1 BG of drilled Def Sp for the English , 1-2 BG's of Gascons, & the rest will be Longbows
Though I'm at a loss as to where one can get Longbows in an aketon in 15mm - earliest figs seems to be 100YW

Surely there must be some 100 YW figures in only akheton that would look much the same?

the Longbows described in Ian Heath's Feudal Europe are described as wearing quilted aketons, but there's nothing like that out there at all I'm aware of
So if you just want the ones that look nicest, Corvus Belli 100YW are prolly your best bet - at least you get lots of quality & variety in their Longbows

Khurasan are doing a range of early 100YW figs which should produce suitable figures - will be a tad expensive though based on their other ranges

As far as I can tell you should only have a PBI of +2, not +3. There are only four stands of Cv.
