Had a game at Ingleburn Castle against Rod the Barbarian

The Ancient Britons have cunningly sent their chariots on a flank march.


The Early Germans think they will have an easy time invading Castle Ingleburn with thier puny warriors !



Boudicca urges the light horse forward to slow down the invading hordes.

But Boudicca's trap is about to be sprung , the Chariots will leap onto the German flank and destroy them utterly !

The end result , the brave Britons could hold on no longer, the Chariots seem to have taken a wrong turn or got the days mixed up. o.O




A good game and fun was had by all.

I love the Ancient Britons , but I need to rethink my list , perhaps more warriors and less slingers/chariots.

Fun game to follow through. Ya, we've kinda come to the conclusion here that we'd rather have the BGs on the battlefield than have them not show up because some twit commander said go left and they should have gone right.

One would like to ask what historical reference you used to accuse the Germans of being of more offensive body odour than your Britons were.

Perhaps next time you might want to get your chariots some of those Road maps before you send them off table. I have never tried a flank march for that specific reason, perhaps you need to find luckier dice for your flank march arrival or get boudiccia to pick a battle ground that is not so close to the local brothel in the village somwhere off that table edge.

I roll 2 dice when the game was finished , a 10 and then a 9 , why couldn't I roll that during the game.... Arghhh

In fairness, he did not say his own troops were not smelly, or were less smelly, he just said that the Germans were smelly. Also, he did not say they smelled bad and indeed they came up smelling like roses.

It's a nice figure for your CinC

In fairness, he did not say his own troops were not smelly, or were less smelly, he just said that the Germans were smelly. Also, he did not say they smelled bad and indeed they came up smelling like roses.

Curses foiled by intelligence and double talking. Guess they both must have been somewhat odorus

better luck on the flank march next time.

Germans mainly blonde, shaggy and slightly smelly, and in dull colours, navy blue being very popular.

So is one supposed to paint the figures with "eau de cochon" before each game, or can one rely on the player to provide the authentic whiff of unwashed barbarian?

Very nice report. It is easy to follow and well coloured. Your both armies look awesome. Regarding the plan, I have been told by my "grandma" not to put all the eggs in the same basket. Maybe a flank march could be good, but a smaller one!
