Just bought the game and downloaded from the matrixgames server which took way longer than it should have. Imagine my dismay when I go to download the latest patch and see it is almost as big as the the game. 16GB for each file. I could have done it over Steam and been finished ages ago. Live and learn.

The second file which I thought was a patch (HeadQuarters-WorldWarII-MultiUpdateComp-v1.04.09.exe) won't install because it seems it is the DLC and not a patch at all. It is asking for serial numbers to DLC I don't have. So, I downloaded another 16GB for no reason? It states on the download page: [PC] Update v1.04.08 Oct 01, 2025

According to Steam the latest patch is v1.04.09. Where do I get that patch for the download version on matrixgames/slitherine? The update file on the download page is a DLC file and not the v1.04.09 patch!

Screw it, I'll just waste even more time and install the Steam version.

Downloading latest version from Steam right now which is only 12.4GB. Version I downloaded from matrixgames is 16.4GB, patch that is not a patch at all is 15.6GB. That is 32GB of a wasted download they have caused me. Yes, I am very annoyed.

From what I can see the Steam version of Headquarters is 1.04.11, the download page here has an update that says it is 1.04.08 but is actually 1.04.09 so its not even the latest version. On top of that it is not even a patch for the game but is the two DLCs that are available for purchase and is over 15GB in size. You people are a bit incompetent and I won't forget how you made me waste hours of my time over this issue. Not one response to this post and no one replied to my email about it either.
