Market Garden - Operation Berlin scenario experience

So I was just wondering something regarding the last mission of Operation Market Garden. After playing the game 200+ hours I noticed that I never finished the last scenario - Operation Berlin.

So I tried it another time after a long hiatus, and again and then again and once again and again and finally a last again but then on Story Mode difficulty. And yes, I won in the end, finally earning my batches. But that was after losing 3 British units but destroying 134 German units. Am I missing a clue or something or is the scenario just incredibly/too difficult? Just wondering, if anybody else has something to say about that scenario, let me know!

My experience was that every turn the enemy spawned around 8-10 new units. Would they still spawn if I didn't destroy almost all of them every turn, which is doable on Story Mode difficulty. In the original Challenge setting that I normally use, I just couldn't get it done, no matter what the approach or preparation. I tried extra tanks, extra scouts, extra snipers, in the last few tries I knew what was coming but still couldn't protect those "Airborne Chaps" in their trucks. I think at most I got 2 of them to safety before my army collapsed. At that time around 10 of them "Chaps" were destroyed as well. If you have a better tactic/strategy, please share.

It's by the way sort of fun, playing on story mode, and still losing units :-)

I am experiencing the same thing. Playing on Challenging, I haven't managed to get more than 2 trucks off, and no way am I getting near the 'lost paratroopers'.
I did quickly learn NOT to capture the farm too soon, as that is what triggers the German arrivals. I also learned an easy way to defeat the flanking force, but cannot find any way to reduce the 'spawning rate' of the Germans. So much armour, and infantry just slipping past in the dark. On my left flank, closest to the river, I have managed to keep a scout unit active for a fair time, giving warning, but on the right flank, I keep losing the scout and that means no visibility of enemy infantry.
It just seems impossible. I've seen a video playthrough of total success (allegedly on 'insurmountable' level), but I can't help the suspicion that the British troops were incredibly uprated for accuracy and fire effect.
