Severe persistent lag after zooming out (Intel 285H / Arc 140T)

Hello everyone,

I am seeking help regarding a severe performance issue I'm experiencing with Field of Glory: Kingdoms.

The Issue: Whenever I zoom out on the campaign map, the game starts to stutter significantly, and the mouse cursor becomes floaty feeling. The most frustrating part is that this lag persists even after I zoom back in to a closer view.

Comparison: I played Field of Glory: Empires (FOGE) and didn't experienced this kind of issue. The engine feels very different here in terms of responsiveness.

Troubleshooting Attempted:
I have already tried lowering the graphics settings to the minimum, including:
lowering Map Quality
turning off Clouds and Shadows
disabling other visual effects However, the issue remains the same.

My System Specs: I am playing on a laptop:
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 285H
GPU: Intel Arc Graphics 140T (Integrated)
RAM: 32GB

Is this a known optimization issue with the new Intel Ultra chips or integrated graphics? Any advice or workarounds would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Im guessing looking at the chipset and to be honest should be more than enough power, but well driver support may not be for some games, up date to latest drivers and see if thats any better,

And use mains power when playing games, alter power mode so once plugged in it uses 100% full everything and doesn't slow cpu and gpu down in power saving mode.

Not game related, either driver with poor gaming support or not 100% compatible with the pre requisite's of the game, maybe

a few google searches on the GPU just about says everything,
Intel Arc Graphics 140T (found in Meteor Lake CPUs) suffers from driver-related issues like black screens, game crashes (e.g., Enshrouded, RDR2), stuttering, performance inconsistencies, and occasionally broken software/overclocking tools, though stability has improved over time. Common fixes involve rolling back drivers or performing clean installs, but stability remains a concern for some users through mid-to-late 2025.
and that's just one, there's plenty of others, seems you will need maybe a more stable and better driver, it will come hopefully it will fix it for you.

What screen rez are you playing at? Does the stuttering reduce if you play on a lower fullscreen resolution?

The GPU is an integrated part, and so is likely using a lot of the laptop's system RAM for itself. If you are running out of RAM, then the system will start paging things to disk, which is VERY slow :) You can see how much system RAM is in use using the built-in Task Manager app.

Cheers
