The Rome Tutorial Campaign is now available. The ZIP file ‘RomeCorps’ contains two folders. You will need a clean installation of Panzer Corps. I used a Panzer Corps installation 1.32 and it worked. Add the files from the ‘Rome’ folder, such as ‘Data’, “Audio”, ‘Graphics’, etc., to this installation. The other folder, ‘Campaign’, contains the ‘Rome Tutorial Campaign’. This folder is located at
C:\Users\name\Documents\My Games\Panzer Corps\mods and can be started as shown in the menu view with the red circle and arrow. I don't know how to start the mod with JSGME as I have never worked with it before, but it might work the same way as with nikivdd's Fantasy mod. I hope everything works as it should, otherwise I will try to fix it.

The images in the game setup are for illustrative purposes only; I will only design custom campaigns that can be opened via this button (red circle).

The tutorial campaign consists of six missions played from the perspective of the Roman Republic and serves as an introduction to the new Rome campaign for Panzer Corps. It is deliberately designed as a test campaign to gradually familiarize players with the new units, mechanics, and the Roman setting. If the mod is well received, the goal is to establish a stable and atmospheric foundation for future campaigns.

Many thanks to Akkula for permission to use some of his elements and scripts from ModernConflicts for this mod.

Small update RomCorps0.1 is ready for download. After unpacking, simply copy the files from RomCorps and paste them into the RomCorps game folder. Copy the scenarios as well and paste them into My Games\Panzer Corps\Scenario.

Awesome. I hope we can motivate each other ;)
I have been making units for FC, perhaps you can have a use for those.

Thank you very much, Niko. Yes, we could exchange ideas if you are interested. Our two mods are not dissimilar. I think I will need your help later on when it comes to making this mod work for everyone.
Perhaps you could use this knight.

Yes, there is really a lot of work and time involved in such projects. I have already partially adjusted the game setup as well, visually, and created a new start screen. I’ll include several images here for you to choose from.

I have made further progress on my Rome project and have started to create a tutorial campaign, which will include about six missions to help players get used to the game. Translation from German into English/French and Russian is in progress. I will be in touch again when it is ready.

I think this is a really cool idea.
If you follow all battles of the Roman Empire, this will be massive!

Thank you, I really appreciate that!

The idea certainly offers a lot of possibilities and potential for future campaigns and battle scenarios. That said, it’s important to keep in mind that this project is still based on Panzer Corps as the underlying engine and game mechanics.

For that reason, I’m starting small and modest with a tutorial campaign to establish the basics. I may add a standalone battle scenario afterward.

My next major milestone will be building Carthage under Hannibal, followed later by Spartacus and the great gladiator uprising. Step by step—Rome wasn’t built in a day after all.

P.S. Of course, I also thought about naval battles.

I probably won’t include a so-called mirror tower in this project. So far, I have created two variants of defensive towers instead: a wooden watchtower and a stone tower. Both are quite sturdy and not easy to destroy without proper siege equipment such as catapults.

In addition to that, there is also the Roman castell, which provides a strong and historically fitting defensive structure.

A mirror tower would certainly be an interesting idea, but it feels more suitable for a fantasy setting rather than a historical one. It might actually fit very well into Niko’s fantasy mod, where such concepts can really shine. 8)

I am not yet certain whether I will expand the mod into the era of the Byzantine, or Eastern Roman, Empire. Elements such as Greek fire are historically fascinating, but for the time being I would like to keep the overall scope of the project deliberately manageable.
