Playing GC's on FM, currently I am on Yakovlevo in GC '43 with around 67 thousands of prestige and soft cap at 88. However I decided to take a rest from East and switch to West. Since in 42/43 West you import your '41 core I need advice which two additional units I should take with me. Is it better to take two fighters (due to strong allied air presence through the western path) or take two 2,5 stars Wurfhamens ?

I completed GCE before going back to do GCW, but GCE becomes a bit of a slog and I can understand you wanting a change. I put it aside a few times myself for a break. Taking the right units into GC42/43 is a bit of a puzzle. It's a shame to give up experienced Wurfhamens, but you will definitely need strong fighters at times. At least new Wurfhamens should gain experience fairly quickly, whereas inexperienced fighters may suffer. I've checked back and I took 2 good fighters and 2 artillery which I couldn't leave behind as both had range heroes. As you seem to be saying, most choices are obvious, but the rest are a bit of a dilemma. Have fun whichever way you go!

I tend to agree on the fighters

Thank you for your advices, I did pick fighters for reasons you mentioned here. Now I am in GCW '44 Beaches of Normandy and my air force consist of 6 fighters (two of which were given through campaign) plus two Me-410's with Rudel and Lent. I have 13 thousand prestige, could have a bit more but I've delt with some cap issues. So far I think I'm in good position.

And I am trying to repulse temptation to bring Michael Wittmann into my core...maybe when I decide to play on one of the Guderian/Mainstein/Rommel level
