WTC THIRD ROUND MATCHES AND CHALLENGE THREAD (OPEN)

This thread shows the WTC25 Round 3 matches after completion of Round 2 of the tournament.
These games may now be set up.
Challenges should be posted in this thread.
Either player may initiate a match by posting a challenge in this thread and by sending a private message (PM), using the Slitherine system, to their opponent confirming the challenge is posted and any password.
Games may be started immediately however the official start time is 00:00 UCT 20th October.
IMPORTANT - Though challenges made be made and accepted immediately slow play rules will not come into effect until the official start time.
The eight Round 3 Matches for which challenges can now be posted and accepted are the eight groups of four mirror games (64 games) below :-
Round 3 Matches 1-4 .
Round 3 Matches 5-8 .
The armies and map type that you should use in Round 3 depend upon the period you are playing in. Please use the selection for your period as set out below.

All matches will select "Open Battle" for the scenario type. All battles will use 1200-point armies’, so players will choose a “Medium" army and a “Medium" battlefield, Map Type must be as set for your period in the table above. Game length should be the default 24 turns. The Paired (Mirror) Challenge must also be ticked on the last create game screen.
Results of games should not be posted here.
Results should be posted in the separate WTC25 ROUND 3 MATCH RESULTS thread.
That results thread will open on the 20th October 2025.
Please continue to enjoy the tournament and enjoy the chat with your team mates (and opponents). Please do try your utmost to maintain prompt challenge acceptance and play. Be aware of the prompt play rules in the rules thread.
The two other reminders;
1) Please note deadline for completing and/or reporting game scores for Round 2 is 24:00 UTC on 7th November 2025.
2) Please remember the rule change that a map cannot be rejected by one player alone and a game could be forfeit if that is done.
“A map can only be changed by reset of a challenge only if both players agree to do so.”
