Curious lack of apparent interest in WEGO titles Stalingrad and Overlord

Maybe it is not a Slitherine title, thus no dedicated forum

But over on Matrix Games the titles are almost being shunned like lepers :)

Overlord released today, looks incredible ONE only thread visible.

WEGO Stalingrad is an established title, barely any activity.
WEGO Desert War requires you be a detective to find mention of it.

Just wondering, did the dev say something hysterical in the media? (that's a joke).

I can find more action with titles like Steel Panthers
Even Lock n Load digital has traffic

This game is on the first page.

Matrix appears to cater more to experienced wargamers.

I think part of the issue could be that Overlord isn't yet available on Steam. While it will be available in about 6 months, there is no explicit statement that if you buy the version from Matrix today, you will get a Steam key when it releases over there. The lack of such clarity is pretty puzzling.

Well, it might be seasonal.

It might be connected to Donald's effect on US commerce.

I've been involved with Matrix Games since they appeared on the market back in 1999.
I can't post there anymore. I told Erik to cram his forum a couple of years back. He took it personally :) (but then I told him to hehe).

But I know when a good game seems to be seemingly invisible on its own turf.

In the past a title like Overlord would be spinning off threads at full speed on home soil.
2 miserable threads. That's almost depressing for the dev.

Overlord is for this hard core gamer an almost auto purchase. I'm very amused it arrived at the same time as my 50% off coupon.

War in the East 2 is also currently half off, which means I get it for 75% off. If I actually get it.
The thing is, I never really got into my first version.

I generally already own just about everything Slitherine Group has on sale for WW2.

Overlord is a great game and so is WITE2 as well, Overlord is much easier with WITE2 being more of a beast time wise as both in the grand scale of things are hex and counters war games, so depends on your free time, one can be picked up in a easy weekend, the other can be played on day one, but may take you alot longer to play like it should be played on anything other than on easy with all the help on, your call MrsWargamer, you won't be disappointed with either

Well, life just told me to drop dead so to speak

Was all set to buy Overlord and WitE2 for the tidy sum of 69 bucks Canadian
Until the process told me to get a code (a security measure) sent to my phone number which is an internet phone that has no capacity to send or receive text.

Poof that's that, no nice tidy purchase with my coupon.

So I stalked off in a huff and went and bought some models instead

I don't need more models, just like I don't really need more wargames. But at least the Hobby store didn't tell me I couldn't have them. :(

Well I just tried to patch Ageod's Napoleon's Campaigns only to find browsers don't like FTP and zip files. so I tried a new install on a Windows 11 pro machine and it wouldn't work.

I too am getting the hint that it is almost game over for me.

====
Anyway I came across this which is where I started wargaming in about 1968 with "Bish" Iwaszko in Richmond - south west London.

Curiously the computer game that most looks like the houses and scenery we used was Sudden Strike.

windows 11 is fine, it's just sometimes over protective, just install all games as admin and run them as admin, then when updating, the game will be fine as it's also in admin mode, same as FTP and zip file using, it's not a game issue, it's not a windows issue, it's a file protection issue plain and simple and easier to fix and then not be a problem any longer, enjoy.

if you use default anti virus software and firewalls, this method works, if you use most game friendly none default ones it still works, if you use 3rd party none game friendly ones, it's can cause some issues then depending on which one, it's either a program setting, running it in game mode, or contacting there forum to see how to solve it, 9 out of 10 times it's simple and easy to fix for all 3rd party ones.
