An interesting article discussing the sociological, tactical and technological factors at the battle of Crécy:

On the website, the writer also discusses many other battles, mainly in the time period from Blenheim (1704) to Omdurman (1898), but has a few earlier ones (Crécy, Granicus, Hydaspes and Stamford Bridge)

A particularly interesting one is Gqokli Hill (1818), one of the early victories of Shaka Zulu.

Your thoughts?

[Edit] BTW, this is *not* my site, nor do I know the author :)

Thank you for this, the author presents a great description. I will leave it to others to agree/dispute various points but for me, this is a valuable resource and a great prelude to replaying the battle in FoGM. The other battles he has covered will be something I will be studying too.
