Also we might have slightly overdone the conquesting. <here should have been a graph showing the legit increase over time, with a slight bend where some dastardly player killed my emperor, hope it was not those back English>

Darn Dastardly Dynastic resetters. (England did better than I expected here!!! 167 at max.)
Didn't take off until half the game was done.
Also some data corruption around the update to new version.
England gained a lot of legit with few regions, where Byzant tried to conquer everything, I promis I will do better next time!

After all you win. There is nothing to improve here.
It's just that I get my sadistic pleasure from losing this game - as long as I create a kingdom I'm happy with.

P. S. There are such statistics about income avaiable?

Yes, you can load the finished game and look at the data, which was what I did.

Interesting data about Commerce Income (England: 6200 pop, Byz 11800 pop)

The reason the number of regions go down for Byzant is that allies and vassals pick up some of my revolters as I had slightly overextended myself ...

Also when you showed me your giant fleet I had to counter, just keeping my fleet somewhat near your level.

I haven't worked out the game that much, but logically analysing it comes out to me that having fewer provinces but more populated, you can build more buildings there, including more advanced commercial ones giving each other bonuses. The multiplication effect.
Plus England has a national bonus to Trade Acumen.
