Hi gents,

I'm eagerly waiting for the release of this game. Seems that the ww2 game will be released sooner as it atracts most players' threads and interest. I'm a bit burned of ww2 games, but you never know

I would greatly enjoy any new info, update, screenshots, game mech details, etc you would post. Please.

TIA
Miki

Nope, no news. No news is definitely BAD news. And no news in Legion II front, neither. But Commander subforum seems to be attracting a lot of new forumers, so I think Slitherine will put their best efforts on that... ...well, i'll play a TOAW III scenario.

The way to look at it is that we are all working so hard we don't have time to post and update the website as often as we would like...

Work is progressing apace ;)

Cheers

Pip

Right now we're working on the engine & we don't want to release screenshots of a half finished engine. We also have not started work on the UI yet so this looks very messy.

We could release some more concept art if people are interested?

Hi Pip & Iain

Thanks for your response.

Yeah, every thing you can release from the game - concept art too - will me more than welcome!

I would love to see some developer's diaries, like the one you wrote for the WWII game. I know it takes time to write it, but it is fun to read and and it'll keep the game going...now Legion II and Warriors' development seems stopped rather than delayed. Legion II has been there since 2004. First came Legion Arena, which was nice, then Commander...

Oh, and thanks for your answers...Slitherine might not do what some of us want them to do  . but they are as friendly and involved as always.

Richard is doing the concept art and building the models for in game. He doesn't post on the forum though - I think you lot scare him off ;)

He's been in the industry for many years and came to us from EA where he was team leader on the Harry Potter franchise, so it was a major coup for us.

I agree about the amazing quality of those drawings...this concept art is awesome. As i've said some time ago, some wallpapers would be welcome.

This game is getting closer to the top list (Legion II being on top but we know we have to be patient) while i am still very uncertain about Commander (maybe some new, better looking screenshots will make me think differently: by the way, WWI would have been a nice idea as we've got tons of strategy games on WWII).

Hope we won't have to wait too long for Arena: Warriors.

I am currently playing Shogun TW (first campaign ever  ) and Chariots of War (Thrace in the Huge map on hard: if i am in the middle of the map, i don't survive very long...tried 3 times with the upper Egyptians  ): one thing that i like in Shogun (despite the fact that i can't seem able to lose a single battle  ) is the use of Heights and hope we may see this in Arena: Warriors. I guess it should be possible as there are already various bonuses depending on where the units are (forests, water and so on). Also the size of the maps is a plus. Other than that i prefer the Legion Arena engine...i see great potential.

We think you'll be impressed by the screenshots when they are ready. We've got the units up to standard and are working on the landscapes. We've been testing out a program called speedtree and it looks like it will help us get the landscapes looking top notch, though it has been fiddly for Phil to integrate. We're hoping to have something to show in the next month or two. Same goes for Commander, but its a very differnt graphical style.

The jump in quality from Spartan/Troy to Legion Arena was big, but we think we've made even bigger jumps with Arena Warriors. This is thanks mainly to Phil & Richard who have been working hard on it for the last 6 months. We are extremely lucky to have such a talented team.
