Hi,
I just downloaded the Swifter than Eagles DLC but it won't install as it says I need version 1.6.6. So I tried to load version 1.6.6 but that won't install as it doesn't like the version I currently have.(I've updated to the latest version). It is insisting I uninstall FoG 2 and start again. Is that really the only way I can get Swifter than Eagles added? If I uninstall and start again presumably I'll lose my current games?

I'm not sure of what can have caused the issues, but others may be. But if by "I'll lose my current games" you mean any local saves etc., then no - reinstalling won't touch those. They are in your Documents/FieldOfGlory2 folder.

As Pip says, you can safely reinstall without losing saved games.

But you need to use the latest installer - version v1.6.6. (The v1.6.15 updater only updates the changes since the last full version - currently v1.6.6)

You need to first run the v1.6.6 installer: (Which was the last full version)

FieldOfGloryII-SetupRelease-v1.6.6.zip

followed by the v1.6.15 updater, which updates v1.6.6 to 1.6.15.

It won't work correctly if you try to update versions earlier than 1.6.6. You need to first install v1.6.6

Ok, thanks very much Richard. I've got a couple of multiplayer games on the go at the moment so I'll wait until they are finished before trying the re-install , just in case...

Well your current Frankenstein build won't trigger the code that stops you playing with an old version (because it is reporting the correct version), but may mess up the games if some of your scripts do not match your oponnents.

Ok , I finally got around to trying a re-install. I un-installed my game ,I installed version 1.6.6 then I ran version 1.6.15 update. All fine up 'til then.. but 'Swifter than Eagles' will not install , it complains that I don't have version 1.6.6 installed. Surely I don't have to install the DLCs before running the 1.6.15 update?

edit : All other DLCs re-install ok , it's just 'swifter than eagles' that complains...

You should be able to "install" Swifter than Eagles by entering the serial key from the 1.6.15 updater. If not, go back to the 1.6.6 installer and enter it there, then run the 1.6.15 updater.

Great
