Common features:
- free deployment, player flexibility, replayability with different tactics
- focus on grand strategy, logistics, transport and supply (not just combat)
- I try to give players the opportunity to use often-forgotten features, like mine laying, bridge blowing, supply demolition/bombing, rail and sea transport
- geography optimized for enjoyable gameplay, rather than 1-to-1 accuracy
- enough space for maneuvers, not too many units
- combined arms (ground, air, sea)

This is my modest list so far. I thought I'd put it into one post, since I have six maps now.
Contact me for testing, I'll be glad.
Three maps have been tested so far.

Since the Steel Division - like map was probably the best one (thanks to Brenmusik and rm116 for extensive testing), I have tried to make another map inspired by Steel Division 2, this time from the North African theatre.

The special feature of these maps is that you start with few, cheap units, and as you race towards the centre and capture more locations, your income increases and you can recruit stronger units.

The further you get from your base, the longer your supply and rail connections become, and they become vulnerable to ambushes by scout cars, paratroopers, tank spearheads etc
