Entering houses
To enter a free building, click Right Mouse Button on it while selecting only infantry squads. Do not forget that if the number of infantry units is bigger than the possible positions in the house, some units will stay near the entrance.
If the building is already full or cannot fit in the whole new squad you selected, this new squad will not enter the building.
Selecting units
There are multiple options to select another squad in Platoon Commander.
To select only one squad, you can click the Left Mouse Button either on the desirable Squad in Squad Menu in the top right corner or on Squad Icon present above the units. Another way is to click Tab to shift between Squad as they are present in Squad Menu, from left to right.
To select multiple squads, hold Left Mouse Button and drag to place all the squads you want to select in the red selector square, and then release the Left Mouse Button.
To add another squad to the ones already selected, click the Left Mouse Button on it while holding Ctrl.
Calling air support
There are two options of air support you can call in the game: Smoke Screen or Precision Strike. First is used to cover your squads and help them retreat from superior enemy forces, second — to destroy a serious armored enemy or a house occupied by enemy forces.
To initiate air support, you can click the Left Mouse Button once on the Air Support Icon on the left side of your screen — the circle showing the affected area will appear. Then click once again on the desired place in the map to call support.
Stance Selector
Each infantry squad can be in one of three stances. It can be selected by clicking the Left Mouse Button on the Stance Selector on the bottom right of the screen.
Move — basic stance, in which the squad moves standing upright with medium speed and don’t get a lot of fatigue while moving. Great for traversing through relatively safe parts of the map.
Dash — running stance: squad moves significantly faster at the cost of quick stamina drain. Good for quick crossing of a very dangerous point, for instance, to move from one house to another through the street targeted by tanks.
Stealth — prone stance, in which squad trades movement speed for low profile and decrease in visibility of the units. It is designated to fight with other infantry squads in open spaces or move through mildly dangerous zones.
Surface types
The movement speed of all units is directly connected to the surface they are currently on. For instance, the speed of an infantry unit moving through deciduous forest is only 60% of its speed on a dirt road.
The visibility of a unit is also affected by the surface types: the squad in the open field will be seen from a significantly greater distance than the one in the forest.
Pathfinding Selector
Every squad has three pathfinding options, affecting the way it traverses through the map. It can be selected by clicking the Left Mouse Button on the Pathfinding Selector on the bottom right of the screen.
Fast way — finds a path which is the fastest in terms of time, preferring surface types with the best speed modifier.
Direct way — finds the most direct path, as close to a straight line as possible.
Hidden way — finds the most discreet path, preferring surface types with the greatest effect on squad visibility.
