It's a problem here too, but here is one thing I found out. I run the Steam version and Slitherine version both on a desktop and a laptop. The Slitherine version does not pop up asking for username and login, and goes straight to validation issues. HOWEVER my Steam version asks for username/PW and allows access to MP.
