Checking for IP Ownership

Hey there, I've been looking for the trail of ownership for a game called "Martian Gothic: Unification", and so far it looks like all of the original dev teams from the game are defunct, with only Talonsoft being seemingly purchased, by Matrix games, which was in turn seemingly purchased by Slitherine at some point.
TL;DR: Does Slitherine own the rights to publish MGU or did it go to Take2? T2 won't respond in any way shape or form so here I am.
I'm looking to refresh the game if I can and update it to a newer engine, possibly fix the puzzles and other systems, but I need to know if I'm going to end up in court for even trying.
