I've beta tested many of the DLCs for some time now and have come to "know" many of the familiar names who have been regular testers. However, this time around, most of them seem strangely absent.

I asked and was given permission to encourage more of you - and you know who you are! - to join this beta. It is very good and I think you'll enjoy the experience even if you've been disappointed with some of the more recent released DLCs. I too have wondered, "What would _______ say about this design/idea/implementation?"

I hope we can have a Discord group for the beta testers though, it's more convenient than debating in the forum, more real time communication.

It's the timing I guess. People have a lot of other things on their plate before Christmas and thus a lot less for other activities (and even those who don't celebrate it still have New Year coming).

The main problem with that, as I see it, is not solved by using Discord. We come from many different time zones.

Discord would also be a problem because it is outside the company's servers. They control the information when its on their servers, put stuff on discord and its outside their control. So testers could make a discord group (being careful not to violate the NDA) but there would be no dev feedback or tracking.

Also, I will make sure to apply for the next set of DLC coming out. Hopefully an allies version, specifically I would LOVE to play as the USSR. They were involved in the hottest land combat earlier in the war than the rest of the Allies. In fact, it could even revisit the Spanish Civil War.

At least 2 games of Slitherine I have participated in the cbt have beta tester channels on their official Discord, and more from other company or developers. We have had a lot of good time there and never heard of a leak from Discord side as far as I'm aware of.
