Playing without Enemy Heroes

Hello Community,

I thought about replaying the campaign without heroes and awards.
OK, you can play without own heroes and without awards, but I found no way to "eliminate" enemy heroes.

I think it would be fun to play the game in a more pure style: no awards, no heroes, just the units with gaining experience. It would be more about the right tactics.

I had tank units with four heroes (force concentration): lightning attack, ignores entrenchment, quadriple guns, vigilant.
Such a unit with 15 strength... honestly it's too powerful.

But in the course of the campaign there are showing up enemy units - with very strong heroes - which are overpowered too. At least if you are playing without own heroes.

It would be great, if this was made possible.

Great game. thank you.

Play the base campaign if you want no enemy heroes, or learn to mod the game and remove all enemy hero assignment scripts on your own.
This design is a counter to AO long term campaigns, in which you can accumulate more heroes than you can remember. If you can have OP combinations, so should the enemy.

I have modded some games in the past (Panzer General, PC1, Gladius 40k). All changes did work. But I prefer not to mod games anymore.

Right, the design of enemy strength in SCW to AO '46 is a counter to your own strength.
But why not give a player the option to choose a more classic way - like in Panzer General?
I have worked as a programmer in the past. And I could imagine that the work to implement this option maybe is of limited effort. Make available "no enemy heroes" only if you have activated "no own heroes" before - I'm fine with that. But I think it would make the game more versatile and interesting.
Always nice to have options and boosting replayability.
