Royal Tombs costing a lot of money

The "A Royal Tomb was built and cost a lot of money" message and the plundering of your monetary reserves serves some obscure purpose - what, who knows?. I get the premise - a surprise that forces the player to recover momentum and money, slowing down their progress.
The problem is that:

1) As supreme potentate I do not know someone is sucking away the treasury for a dead guy?"
2) There is no listing of the exact amount lost that I can find.
3) It seems to happen often, removing 75% of your money 5-6 times a game during games of 250 to 300 turns.
4) Owning Treasure Chests does nothing to help with this, or anything else I can find.

My question then is: Is there anything that can editted and adjusted by the player to alleviate the amount taken, the frequency, or both?

I think event happens more often the more money you have in your coeffers and potentially Decadence level, but I haven't check this code in years. What matters here is that Gold has a soft caps where taxes increase (one of the moving part s of Administrative Burden formula). If you can try to keep under 5000 gold, but anything up to 10k is fine. Treasure chests help with that. You get a large sum of stored gold when you dissemble them.

Thanks. I was going to say these tombs must be for the grateful dead, but that would be silly to say.
