Slitherine

I've been tooling with the idea of making special elite units a different color scheme than normal units, so as to make them more easily distinguishable on the screen. For the Germans they would be black/grey (SS) and for the Soviets I was thinking maybe white, representing elite winter units. However, I am uncertain what different colors to use for the British or American units. Ideally it would have some representation in reality/history.
Any thoughts?
