Having received my rules and army lists books (Eternal empire and Storm of arrows) I now have to make my first army.
It looks like White sheep is going to be the one.

These are my thoughts based on what I have read and would appreciate any advice as I have not played FOG before and do not have access to anyone who has played it. At this time other armies that are being built by "regular opponents" (all new to FOG) include French Ordonnance, Timurid and probably Free Company with the English bow. So that is what I am expecting to face over the coming months with this army.

I am using 800 points as a target. Can easily make smaller totals by dropping something.
Anyway, here are my thoughts:
IC + 3xTC 185 pts (Should I consider going Anatolian ally and save points on one of the TC generals? This will also give me access to more LH if I want)
Do I need so many TCs or could I try to get another LH/MF command in instead?

3x4 Cv Drilled, Armoured, Superior, Bow, Swd 228 pts
4x4 LH Undrilled, Unprotected, Average, Bow, Swd 160 pts

That gives a core for 573 points
The rest of the points spread between Undrilled Superior Armoured Cavalry lancers and the supporting infantry.
Perhaps a few undrilled Average Cv Bow as well?
Some Anatolian ally LH BGs?

With this army you should not be entering combat until the bow fire has given you an advantage, so you don't need the extra TC to throw into combat. IC and 2 TC should be fine.

To be honest what your going for is a shooty cavalry army. This army relies on speed of movement the only thing foot would do is slow you down. If you could have taken lights yes but not medium.

Your drilled Cavalry are the punch. No fighting with these till they shoot the enemy down being drilled you need to manourve with them not just a stright line up.

Your light horse are as good as most other light horse use them to skirmish and hold up enemy. Add the extra Allies and you'll more than likely outnumber other armies with 8 BG Lights. Use them to get around the line chase the camp pull troops around.

Have the TC as CIC you'll have +2 but what you should be aiming at is moving first deployment is less of a problum. Moving first will get you across the table for the lights 29 inchs all extra manouve room for you. Use the FC as a flank march with the Lancers and the protected Cavalry that will give you a six inch gap down one side. Through out the lights as a skirmish line and use the Cavalry to gang up on one point of the enemy line.

With this type of army you will need to shoot and scoot and come back evade if charged don't stand with Lights unless you have a good reason a LH v LH battle takes a while to sort out allowing heavy troops to move up better to shoot and by pulling out some units you can gang up on the enemy and cause gaps in the line.
