I bought the game today and tried a copy and paste into steam and it says its a duplicate copy with the steam key.

Any suggestions?

Demyansk, check if the game still appears in your registered games.
I bought it on Tuesday and got the same problem as you.
Today I checked my games and BGD was not listed.
I have sent an email to support, I hope they can give an explanation and solve the issues.
