This thread will be for reporting the WTC24 Round 2 match results

Results of all games in all Round 2 matches should be posted in this thread.

All the games that are to be played are listed in the tables below and in the challenge thread, there are seven match-ups each of four individual games, one game in each period. This is a total of 28 games but only one game per player.

The winner should post, or in the event of a draw, the player with the lowest % damage received. If both players received same damage either player can post.

Please post using the Round 1 Match-up number 1 to 7, from the tables below, the period number and each of the players final % loss (highest damage then lowest damage) as shown in the top left of the match (game) screen on the final turn.

Captain Savage defeats mberisso 45:19

Despite the incredible resilience of the Anglo Norman knights, who seemed to rally from almost everything, the Portuguese managed to hold things together until some of their own knights managed to charge home. The margin of victory would have been greater but the Welsh allies decided to get in on the rallying as well. Those dismounted knights were very tough!

Kroche (Roman) defeats Lynx57 (Palmyran) 36% loss to 60% loss

Even game most of the way through, multitude of Palmyran skirmishers decimating some unfortunate Roman units in the early stages and managing to evade out of trouble from Roman advances. Initial cataphract charge of Palmyyan's was an unexplainable disaster - disrupted on impact with a light lancer and was the first cataphract to be routed. The other cataphracts proved much more hardy - autobreaking Roman heavy foot and medium cavalry units. Roman's managed to defend against cataphracts through ganging up with infantry or managing to hold them up long enough to enable a flank charge. Romans pulled away on points as the Palmyran skirmishers ran light of missiles and were more widely spread. With only a few turns remaining a lot of the Palmyran units had retreated into relative safety and luckily Romans got to 60% with the routing of the final cataphract. GG to Lynx57.

The two armies met on a perfectly flat plain. My opponent spent the first half of the match withdrawing to the rear of the map but I stayed in steady pursuit and the two lines eventually met. I had largely ignored ranged units while my opponent had invested in them (and used this time to snipe at my pikes). Despite the losses, the above-average Spartan pikes did a good job of engaging the enemy legionaries allowing me to envelop my qualatively superior foe with my greater infantry numbers.

Cherebuschka with Hannibal in Africa army defeat SgtOgre and his Parthian and Seleucids army 58-28

Nice battle, the parthian light certainly routed a fair number of the carthaginian one. But both elephant and infantry superiority did a number on the much smaller parthian army.
