Master of Magic Remake - Editing

I am relatively new to this version of the game, but I was playing MoM when it was new way back when. For this remake, which I am enjoying thus far, I would like to ask a couple of questions, the answers to which I cannot seem to locate through searching the forum. So, here goes.
1) Is there some kind of way to edit your Wizard after you start a game, such as through the use of either a Save Game Editor or something similar? Or, perhaps access the data directly through Notepad++, for example?
2) Concurrent with the first question, is there a way to simply start the game with the Planar Seal spell already in play, just as a buffer that will give Wizards on each Plane enough time to build a strong enough economy and military. Sometimes, I end up getting a hello from an army of 6 mid-level or better units, and I'm still building my 3rd or 4tf city. I feel that, maybe with Planar Seal in play from the beginning, it will take a while for someone to dispel it.
3) Is there any kind of tutorial for the game editor? I see it there, and I can see some of the options, but can't quite figure out how to navigate through it.
If I have asked questions that have actually been answered before, please direct me to the appropriate page(s) and accept my apology. Otherwise, thanx for any help.
