Claim diplomacy.

I know that claims are being adjusted in the upcoming patch. Perhaps in a future patch diplomacy concerning them could also be adjusted. Here's why. In a recent game a faction had a claim on one of my regions. I had a claim on two of theirs. I offered them the 2 for 1 trade and also added as much gold and metals that I could afford. They turned me down. If the AI offered me that kind of deal I wouldn't have hesitated to say yes.
This is an excellent game!

Yeah similar experience here too. As north Wales I offered England 3 for 1 and it was still a no-no (relations were slightly positive). They later got to enter peace negotiations with me:

They have four regions unoccupied (and a vassal of three) and 14 occupied, with no forces left. Dunno if difficulty affects diplo offers, this is on the second hardest setting but still somewhat optimistic of them. If they'd have taken the original generous offer they wouldn't be in such a pickle now.

I tend to ignore claims as I find it so hard to get the AI to accept a deal to drop them. Normally I do it by the sword, much more effective that way.

At least they are very willing to offer claims in peace talks, but by then most are conquered ...

I had the AI offer to drop a claim against an ally of mine if I gave them gold. I was not interested and declined.

In fact this (the unwilling ai diplomacy) presents more problems down the line. I'd already been at war with England before this current war. After making peace with them first time, they dowed me right after the ten turn cooldown again. They lost their armies quickly due to multiple wars and seeing as they would likely dow me again if we made peace, I decided to finish them off. When that was done, the Scots dowed me. I removed them from the map also as they wouldn't make a realistic peace.
This has left me with a glut of regions and the only way I see to form vassals is via the RGD. I'm over the demesne allowance (36/28) and struggling to gain enough authority to reach the top tier. It's not going to happen unless I can form vassals. I've had the decision on very high priority since the start of the second war with England and have received it only once. The vassals I do have keep returning provinces to me as I have claims on them...and I can't remove those claims without the forfeit claim rgd, which is also on very high priority (everything else is on normal). I tried giving them provinces with the claims in and this leads to a massive authority hit due to the claims, so now it's me in the pickle. An option to buy rgd's would be nice.

Were some of your allies still at war? then repeat rounds of aggression follows.

Please post the tooltips with the % breakdown for these peace proposals so I can adjust the weights.
