Iberian Order stole my land

First time playing Kingdoms, I'm playing as Portugal and I'm around turn 210.
I used the "fund holy order" regional decision in Beira and Alcantara wich spawned a "Commandery" building in each region. All was good for a long time, the Iberian Order troops were just kinda standing there but at least they weren't being a nuisance and the conversion bonus was nice to have... Except they have somehow taken the region of Beira! A notification came up at the start of the turn saying that the Iberian Order had taken Beira using treachery or something to that effect, however they have just moved an army in that region and it is in pretty bad shape, as if it has just fought a battle...

What am I supposed to do? I can't just leave them one of my claimed regions, but at the same time I'm not sure whether I could simply wage war on a Knightly Order without suffering some atrocius penalties...

Also I would like to know how they took my land... Did they use a regional decision?

Thank you!

Please post a picture of all the notifications of that region.
Also if have the save from the turn before(autosave) and make a save of the current turn? please post it here.
Save game folder is something like this: Documents\My Games\EmpiresKingdoms\SAVES

you can use https://wetransfer.com/ to upload large files.

I'm not sure how to view that information in game. Are these good enough?

Seems like revolting peasants. I'll look at the turn before

I can't see what is wrong, Castilla and Iberian order fought and then it was theirs.
And especially why it talked about a treaty.
Usually its rebels that mess things up and multiple factions.

Thank you very much for your help!

So if I understand this correctly...
1) Peasant revolt happens in Beira
2) revolt automatically joins Castilla
3) Iberian Order comes in to fight Castilla
4) IO wins the battle and takes control of the region

Is that correct? If so it actually makes sense since IO and Castille are at war right now...

Maybe, but I didn't see the rebels, only Castilian troops fighting Iberian order (you can see it yourself if clickon the event in the region.

If its rebels, then
1) peasants of your general culture revolt
2) Iberian should have fought them
3) Iberian takes over region (but you should still have been shown as original owner)
4) Iberian fights Castile, they are at war, at least now.

Got it.
So it seems like maybe I would be justified in save scumming just this once? :D

EDIT: it seems like the region always goes to the IO when I end the turn... Weird. I do have a transaction proposal pending with them which gets accepted, but I'm merely giving them some metal to raise relationships, I'm certainly not giving them any land...

You have to go back 2 turns as the rng is always the same to enable MP gaming.

I think I have figured out what is happening, and if I'm right then this is definitely a bug!

If you load the "before" autosave and change you controlled faction to Castille you can see that

1) Castille has no events they can use to take Beira
2) Castille is already at war with Iberian Order
3) if Castille does NOT move any troops into Beira then the region doesn't change ownership

however if Castille decides to move some troops into Beira then a battle between them and IO ensues. IO wins this battle and at this point I think the game bugs out as it gives them ownership over the region despite them not owning it in the first place...

Could simply be some "if" block in a function which states that if a faction wins a defensive battle then ownership of the region automatically goes to them. That would make sense in basically every single situation except for when you're dealing with Knightly Orders...

It might indeed be the bug we fixed for 1.01. You could snatch the region from its owner under certain circumstances if you happened to defend successfully in it, regardless of your relations.

I'm pretty sure the region goes to whoever won the battle, even if they are the attacker.
Very easy to test on this save, just control Castille and win an offensive battle against the Iberian Order on Portugal's territory.
