Hi, I am playing a Two Player Skirmish game using the Ming in Crisis option.
Very Large army size using the Southern Ming 1599-1683 Army and only have TWO Generals :?:
Anyone have any ideas re numbers of Generals ?
My previous game using the same options had Three Generals.
Thanks for your replies.

There is very little cavalry in your army. In any skirmish, the AI, according to the scripts, puts all the player's infantry in the center, assigning it one general, and puts the cavalry on both flanks (respectively 2 more generals), if there are enough of them. Also, if there are enough cavalry, a reserve can be allocated behind the infantry (plus one more general). Thus, if you take more cavalry you have a higher probability of getting more generals in your army.
In your case, the AI placed all the cavalry on one flank. Therefore, you have 2 generals - one for the infantry, the other for the cavalry.

That makes a lot of sense as in my previous game I had a couple more Cavalry units and had cavalry deployed on both Flanks each with a General and the CnC with the Infantry.
So,thanks to you Cronos it pays to take at least 8 Cavalry.

To prevent such situations in FoG2 and FoG2M, the script "Add General" is used at the deployment stage in custom battles.
I adapted this script for SJ MP (I also added the "Change Command" script - so that a unit with the added general does not remain alone on the battlefield :) ):
