I cannot run the new FOG K on my PC after installation I get this error message:
Application unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)
How can this be rectified?

I have already 4.8 net

I installed .net 8.0 and still have no music and sound in game. There are still some launching issues.

The required was 4.7.2, don't know if newer is OK or they can co-install.

you could never install 2 version at the same time

What version do you have (Steam, Slitherine, GOG, etc)?
Can you please post the contents of the error.log file found in Documents/My Games/EmpiresKingdoms

That isn't the correct log file. That looks like something that the launcher outputs.

OK - it's a system issue then (the game isn't even starting up). This is usually because of a missing system file, or because of an over-zealous anitvirus.

First, open Command Prompt as Admin and in Command Prompt window type
sfc /scannow
and hit Enter key. This will check your system for any missing files.

Otherwise, you could try temporarily disabling your AV (or whitelisting the game install folder) to see if you are able to run the game.

Also, there is no Errorlog file on the path referred to above.

Since you're running this in a box then it's presumably something to do with that. You could try using a different virtual machine or even just creating a partition for Windows if you have enough room in your SSD/HDD.

Appreciate your assistance. I may have confused you by my using the term, box. I simply meant I have a new Windows 11 computer. It's a couple wks. old now. Works fine with other applications incl. one game (Rule the Waves). I don't know how to set up a virtual machine or parition. Not sure that this would be helpful.

My suspicion is that the game is incompatible with the newer computers and associated drivers and related software. BTW, I ran windows diagnostics assoc. with DirectX. Everything was fine.
