old guy question. i just cant read the screens . need bigger type. any way to do this(window zoom doesnt work here)

Try magnifier on windows, maybe it works for you.

thanks for ideas. i had no problems reading with empires, but definitely wish fonts bigger. will try UI (didnt see this) or the download suggestion (always worried about non game changes not good at computer stuff)

hey pip - ui scale changes didnt seem to help. is there any chance that you could give scale options for type onthe patch (there is a suggestion of some files to change - but i would rather have it in the game rather than changing files myself), im a long time empires player and kingdom is much harder to read. thanks

Actually, there is only 1 font file to change out in the main directory/System folder.

I agree that it would be nice to have a few more options, in-game, per UI Scaling.
Interestingly enough, I was able to do this for the Empires game, as well...for those that needed it. ( like me )

It looks like the in-game options only tweak the font sizes up by 25% at most, but you can alter them by hand in the options file. Just open OPTIONS.TXT in Documents/My Games/EmpiresKingdoms and then find the lines

GlobalUIScale
GlobalFontScale

You can then change the values to do global changes of the font and (some) UI sizes. Values of 2000 make things VERY large, and make the UI look ugly, but 1500 (e.g.) might be a considerable help. Save the file and run the game to see the results.

This could be something you could try if you don't want to change the install files.

Thank you Pip, I never about that.

You can not watch the ledger completly by scaling up. A right left slider is missing. Thus you only see part of the Authority view for example.

Not a good solution. Either having a readable font size or have the ingame information...
