Depends. Some secondary objective unlocks big bonus, or alternative campaign paths, or more units, etc etc...

As StuccoFresco sez, rewards can vary a lot. Typical rewards are:

- more RP
- more CP
- commanders
- free units
- and more

However, the description linked to any objective should have the exact details.
