Looks like the new version is 10.0.6 (not 10.0.5).

And now for the bad news....the editor is broken.
I am unable to select the Primary or Secondary flag, the selection is stuck on None.
(If you click on ie the Sec flag multiple times it will eventually change, add a lot of flags on the map and get stuck again.)

I don't understand the problem, it seems to work.

I found the issue, I have to click below the buttons (not on them).
This is probably caused by the OOB/desktop resolution combo I'm currently using.
Mea Culpa

Well. Well, well.

The previous patch had an air of finality to it. When it created this issue at the last minute, to be left that way for all eternity or so I thought, I was done with OOB. But, as has happened in the past, the game and whoever is behind it these days, surprised me. Fixed!

So now what? Am I back in OOB-land or not? Only time will tell. I can say this: In the months of being away, I found no alternatives to OOB for scratching this particular itch. Oh, I found other stuff to do, of course, but not the excellence of tactical-level combat and visual appeal that OOB provides.

By the way, I am among the Steam creatures these days. I access OOB and all my other games on that platform. Below are the last two news postings for OOB on Steam:

That "Major Update" from last July was what created the "Force panel appearing after [every single] turn." No mention on
Steam of this latest patch, version 10.0.6.

If I had not thought of "dropping by here," I would not have known about this potentially game-saving (for me) fix.

Thanks, Bru -- always appreciated. OOB has probably been my favorite game to play (well, along with AGEod's Civil War II). I've been playing a lot of Hearts of Iron 4 lately. Along with an overhaul MOD, it's an excellent game. Vanilla though is pretty poor. I look forward to your next project.

On one hand side it is nice te read that still someone works on that game but on the other hand this patch (again) seems a bit dissapointing considering the bugs that have been reported years ago and still exist:

- The game sometimes hangs on the AI turn (mostly (only?) for naval units... e.g. the Norway scenario of the Blitzkrieg DLC).
- Sometimes the AI attacks and moves on top of the attacked unit , causing two units in the same hex (e.g. 1st battle of Rshev, Red Steel DLC).
- Many, many text bugs: missing texts, wrong objective descriptions, wrong unit designations, typos, widespread in all DLCs.

Fortunately, this last category can be addressed with a text editor program. I will settle for the lack of major bugs in this latest version. Keeping my fingers crossed; if they never revisited this game (thereby introducing new bugs), I am content with it in this state.
