What do people use to stick their 15mm figures to the bases, superglue or something else? Is it best to stick the model on first and then start flocking the base?

Most often I've used 5 minute epoxy to attach figures to the base. Superglue is likely to be too brittle so figures are liable to pop off too easily.

I normally attach figures to the base before painting or flocking the base.

I use 25s but i just blob a blob of white glue on...stick figures on...let dry...blob entire base with white glue...heap w green stuff, patt down...shake off excess excess...let excess kinda hump up to make irrgeular looking grass....whala!

I've used super glue, epoxy, PVA and UHU. They all work. You can use any glue that will stick the two materials. PVA is probably the best if you might want to get the figures off again later. If using epoxy I prefer a slow-setting one as it gives you more time to get it all done.

For my 15mm figs, I use metal bases. I first put a small glob of Elmers glue for each fig and let them sit over night and dry.. Then i take elmers glue and spread it out on the base with a tooth pic then stick it in flock.. Let it set over night.. Then use a sealer on the base.. I have yet to have a fig pop off a stand.

I use "No More Nails" which is a strong white glue in a tube. You can buy it at B&Q. Its quite thick so also works as filler, blending the figure base into whatever you are sticking them to.

Use white/PVA glue for basing.

When you need to rebase (and you will), super glues and epoxys suck.

I just use cheap contact adhesive.

Then I use PVA, sand and watered down emulsion paint to get the texture, a couple of dry brushes for highlights and static grass to look nice.

The best method I find is to use coarse pumice paste. I put a layer of this paste on my base, than I drive miniature bases in this paste. When paste dries miniatures are firmly tied to the base. Then you need only to paint the base: pumice paste dried is so rough you can paint with dry brush or use army painter.

I use only 3mm wooden or 3.5mm masonite bases
I then take liquidex effects texture gel - stucco type - with some brown paint mixed into it a head of time
I butter the liquidex onto the base and stick the figures into the material
when it dry the next day - I can drybrush additional colors or add flocking until I am happy

It is also easy to make figures that are slightly different size - look PERFECT besides each other - IMHO

It looks great and is EASY to pry up figures years from now - when you decide to change a few figs on some stands or something
