Those look pretty alike. They are listed as diffrent modells in the game files, but i have a hard time believing that those are not the same.

Yes the J8M is the same original base mesh as the Me163. The J8M was a reverse engineered copy of it and was visually identical at any resolution worth portraying in the game. We only have a unique model entry so we can apply unique insignia and textures ( and presumably different weapon loadouts ). So why would we waste resourses making a unique model?

I also mentioned in my 1946 review that its kinda sad, that the japanese just get copys of german jets with even better stats. Just call them Me262 and let Wagner say, that the german gave them to the japanse. Same for the americans, they also got copies...

Edit: I assumed you were only talking about the J8M and Me163 .. but on the off-chance -- no, unlike the J8M, the Japanese made significant design changes to the J9N1 Kikka so its a unique model and not a copy of the Me262. The differing shape of the tail and cockpit alone should be quite obvious at this angle but the shape of the fuselage, nacelles and wings is also quite distinctive.

We could just call them a 262 and 163 but they're not. They're named and modelled correctly.

The Messerschmitt Me Bf163 Komet is a rocket-powered interceptor aircraft:

Me 163 Komet... Not!... a copy of the Me 262.
