Hello all

I was just chatting with a work mate and we both commented on our n00bish inability to get our hands on any Romanized Argyraspides. If any one could point out a company that sells these in the 15mm scale that you be great!

Most people would probably just use Romans, but not necessarily paint them red.

Or maybe just use "their" romans, and leave them red.

according to the nik secunda book on the later seleucid period of romanisation they look identical so i think its safe to pretty much just use romans.

The point is that they were armed and equiped as legionaires so it stands to reason that in 15mm at least they look the same.

I would use the xyston polybian romans over essex (either chain armoured tirari or hastati) but only if you dont mind the large size. giants among men. If the argyraspids were top of the pops and the portion romanised were the best of these then the large size might be explainable at a stretch.

I have intentionally used AB for my spartans among my xyston athenian hoplites for th esame reason (they are taller)

Essex and Donnington both do Romanized infantry. It's unlikely they'd be identical, based upon what I've seen/read. I would argue that the Essex or Donnington figures, which interpret a figure with an eastern style helmet, a large shield, and a sword with or without javelins, would be more likely.

Alright I'll take alook. I am getting most of it from the Eureka Miniatures I'll take alook into some of their stuff otherwise I'll probably end up going for Essex
