I'm sure you guys have seen the Panzer Corps 2 Insider Articles going up on this Slitherine page. But there isn't any way to comment directly to those articles that I can find, so I thought I'd repost them here on the forum. 1946 is approaching, and we'd definitely be interested to hear our players' thoughts on these inside peaks. The 2nd Insider article just came out today in fact.
Insider #1 from Sept 5th

Oh no, AO1946 can’t be the last AO DLC, we miss all the west AO… at least from 1942 to 1945 we need alternative path in west front against US and Brits Armies, from Africa to Italy, normandy and west germany… hopefully with support of Axis allies Italians …

I haven't really spent any real time analyzing this Game situation yet, but what immediately comes to mind is this massive West-Coast beach-head landing zone.
The West Coast is rife with substantial serious "Mountain Ranges" with the exception of some passageways through it. This could result in some considerable endangerment to those disembarked landing forces as they are now mainly restricted to cordoned off areas or zones without free access to the rest of the continent.
This could then possibly be a good place to destroy these bottled-up or trapped forces primarily by means of airpower bombardment as well as a possible potential of a Canadian assault effort from the North from Canada into the rear of the invasion force. I am also not aware of any major 'Oil-Refineries' in that sector of the country at that time-period... other than possibly San Diego??? or some-such place which would have to be captured "Intact and Functioning"... so any invasion force would then be likely even more hindered by a possible severe lack of fuel supplies.
What about Hawaii???... if that region was not previously pacified... then the AirCraft Carriers and Submarines from that Island could also cause havoc with any invasion and resupply effort... that the Axis may try to instigate.

Well, if this is indeed the last of the AO DLC, then it would be a shame, as there's indeed a lot to explore. At the same time, Kerensky really needs a long holiday after all the hard work.
I hope and believe this simply means an end to the current journey and not the whole DLC cycle. We're after all still waiting for Pacific Corps and possibly some other expansions if the sales results are favorable. Perhaps we will be back to this series, but after a longer break, even possibly a yearly one, once some other DLC come out and expand the unit poll and mechanics? Only the devs and designers really know.

30 scenarios is quite a lot! I would have been happy with 12 - 15 scenarios. I am eagerly waiting for the journey into the Pacific after all!
I wonder if the super-sized battleships and carriers will also bring revised naval mechanics?

30 Scenarios for the invasion of America from the West Coast! It is a dream come true! Not just for the number of scenarios, but also because it's a first. The Germans with the help of the Japanese as combined invader force looks promising. It may also serves as a possible end if the Pacific DLCs were published later.

30 Scenarios with a core that is maxed out in any aspect. 5 stars, all awards, 3 heroes on each units. I main aspect of this whole game is to manage your core, that already was a huge problem in 1944/1945. I dont think there will be a lot of new units, so you we will nearly have to upgrade nothing. I really hope they have a good idea to solve that problem, if you just go left to right 30x it will be boring.

You'll get a new unit count from the next marketing announcement... Monday I believe it's coming.

This campaign is a lot of 'firsts'. I wouldn't have been happy to make something that wasn't. Panzer Corps is and always has been a trend setting title, not just a trend follower. There was nothing like the Grand Campaign in a Panzer General type game before our Grand Campaign. And Axis Operations is pushing that even further, by starting earlier in Spain and now ending later in 1946.
1.It's the largest DLC to date, and potentially even considered 'expansion pack' in size in fact.
2.It's the first purely ahistorical campaign, regardless of its links to previous Axis Operations.
3.It's trying to start on the other coastline, which as you noted is indeed unheard of for Germany to be doing. But that's how it is, because it fits into the 44/45 alternate history lore that has taken the player further east all the way to India and linking up with Japan.

One problem, why only 30 missions? It should be 50 missions, one mission per state.

But seriously, at lest we will get first long DLC since AO 1943. Im still thinking that AO 1944 would be better if it was relaesed in two parts, historical and no- historical. But maybe developers are take our impressions about previous DLCs and this dlc wil be great final of this epic jurney.

Sometime during 1946 Development, my time in game clicked over to 1946 hours in game.
It has since flown way past that number.

Store Page is up with lots of info and images.
I like the Steam Store Page, it has integrated gifs alongside the text!

According to the BETA sign up page, there is going to be 50+ Unit models, that's a lot of new gear.

When I reply to your posts, I am just demonstrating concepts, not being defensive. So no worries friend.
I wear my time inside the game editor as a badge of honor.

I saw a lot of new American units, and was startled to see several British tank designs with American colors. I counted three new German planes in those pictures.
Why destroy Mt. Rushmore?!

Interesting news!
With all of these new unit models, is there also coming an update of sounds for attack and movement... to hear loud and impressive battle activity?
