Version 1.32 for GOG?
Posted: Wed Sep 06, 2023 10:30 pm
All the downloads for 1.32 that I've found either throw CRC error or base game unlocked only. A download or a guide for GOG would be appreciated.
Under "3." There is a "noSteam" version of 1.32 linked:
I tried that, didn't work as well. Same CRC problem.Locarnus wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 10:57 pm

Please report back if that one works for your gog install.
Hello, which file name is the the reg patch file?jeffoot77 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2023 10:12 am did you try the reg patch file ? u can find it here : just launch the reg file before installation

That reg file basically removes all information, including key, from registry, which I never have with GOG version. Still tried it nonetheless. No, it didn't work.jeffoot77 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2023 10:12 am did you try the reg patch file ? u can find it here : just launch the reg file before installation

Sorry to hear that.
It's more likely the fact that there hasn't been any GOG users that care about 1.32. I saw a post for one that cared and the solution didn't help him either. What you need to know is that Slith/Matrix products in GOG are different because GOG users are not getting any key to put inside registry. The registry solution won't work because the executable for GOG and Matrix is different. Matrix executable has registry check that will throw CRC if it doesn't detect a key inside the registry.Locarnus wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 1:24 pm

I have not yet seen any problem reported from a gog install with the 1.32 version I linked above in my install guide.
But of course the numbers are tiny and I do not even know if someone else with a gog version attempted it (could have been slitherine/matrix only so far).
Though that lack of negative feedback for that download imho could be a small indicator for some other issue.
My last suggestion would be a complete reinstall. Even using a freshly downloaded install file from gog. If you are using windows 11 I would set compatibility mode to an earlier windows version.
From other posts in the forum and beyond, it at least seems that gog users are not singled out to be left behind. Plenty of complaints about pre 2020 gold steam purchases, iOS version and so on. It is a 12? year old game long out of support after all. The 1.32 patch was not even an official update, but a personal gift to the modding community from Rudankort himself!
A 5 $/€ newly bought steam gold version might be an unfair pill to swallow, but could be worth it for the mods alone. And can have multiple installs for different mods on the same machine, as described in my mod preparation guide.
I bought the base game then each DLC as it came out. I also bought the iPad version, and even bought an old iPad mini to play it on. When the Gold version came out I bought it from Slitherine (includes a Steam key), because it makes installing so much easier. I use the Steam version for official content (DLCs), and have a different install on my hard disc for each major mod, which avoids problems installing mods. It makes everything so much easier. With over 1200 hours on Steam alone, I've definitely had my money's worth, many times over.
True, but it didn't resolve anything for GOG users specifically. Also, people nowadays don't like someone necroposting for ridiculous reason.bondjamesbond wrote: ↑Sat Sep 23, 2023 10:56 am This has already been discussed problems in various versions of exe
