I’m a MASSIVE panzer corps 1 and order of battle fan ! I’ve played through both multiple times . I however don’t have a windows PC and am dying to play PC2 . I’ve been hopping with OOB being on Xbox/ps5 Panzer corps 1 being on IOS/Mac we would see PC2 being put one of those two platforms. Is there ANY chance of the game being put on those platforms ? I know that there is some “issues “ between slitherine and Apple , but I’ve read PC was a decent seller for Mac and since OOB is still being supported with patches on consoles , it must be doing OK at least . Does anyone have any info for this poor broken down war horse ?

I’m a Mac owner and I’ve been playing PC2 for years thanks to Parralel’s Windows desktop for Mac. You have to pay a yearly fee, but for me it’s a small price to pay to enjoy such a good game.

I think PC2 should run on Mac since it's made with Unreal engine?

Apple doesn't think about Slitherine at all, so they don't really have issues between them. Slitherine has issues with Apple's position that software should be made to take advantage of the specifics of each platform and updated periodically to support new paradigms (eg 64 bit). Slitherine wants write once, run anyway apps that don't have to be optimized to run well on any particular system. They also want 20 years of backward compatibility without even having to recompile.

All that said, Apple did release porting tools to make windows games work on Mac so Slitherine could release PzC for Mac. However, they are philosophically opposed to helping Apple / Apple customer in any way.

Given that PzC works fine on the iPad, that's not really true in this case.

On a PC, 8 GB of RAM is enough, which does not seem to be the case for a Mac

A lot of PCs that run PzC2 do so poorly.
The requirement is 8GB Ram + VideoCard with 2GB of VRam.

The new Macs have no Video Card or Vram, for PC + 2GB Vram = 10GB RAM.

Example :

Please download the map and launch from the editor, let me know if loading times are okish or too high.

Loading time for me is +-3 mins with no units.
My machine is not top of the pops, but pretty ok.

I on loaded the map on my Mac Air M2, ~3 secs.
My Samsung laptop the same.
