Hi all,
Planning to start a Moghul army and was wondering what could be good number of elephants
to buy/paint.
Was thinking of 6(2*3) or 9(3*3) does it sound reasonable?

OK, there is no list available yet, however, 6 is probably a safe number to get.
Caveat - between now and list publication anything could change.
Also note that to date - the ancient/medieval rules that is - elephants have only ever been in BGs of 2 bases. Again there is no guarantee that this will be the case when FoG:R is published.

If the Moghuls can have Impact Swordsmen why not the Ottoman Janissaries.

the Mughals had some "warband" types e.g religious warriors, both Hindu and Muslim, Omani swordsmen, afghan/ pathan hill tribes, rohillas who are probablybest classified as
MF Unarm/ Prot Impact, swordsmen posibly Bw*. These troops were better than the usual peasants looking for off-season military employ. These "better" foot would look to get a charge in, I believe, to "rush" their oponents but lacked staying power
I think Janissaries "Impact" swordsmen is a good shout but only if they suffer a penalty to their shooting in some way
This would reflect a lack of western fire drills and a reliance to get in close but arguably grading them as swordsmen would give them a melee bonus against
"western" shot
I think that the Janissaries tended to be assault troops in the siege but on the battlefield they tended to holda defended position and apply the coup de grace to a worn out enemy
So on the battlefield perhaps they are not "Impact" swordsmen in that sense?

Hello spring,
First of all thanks for sharing moghul & elephants games. I like this game most because i have read a book titled
Empire of the Moghul. Really nice book it was and your sound settings are perfect. Thanks to help me to remember my past reading hobby.
