With the patch today I can no longer zoom in!! The mouse wheel no longer works. My old eyes can see these small units!!

Should say cannot see the small units!!

Found the keyboard commands so I am good but the mouse wheel does not work.

Apparently Options/Preferences was reset to some default settings.
IIRC it's on the Controls tab where you can enable/disable mouse scrolling and set mouse zoom speed.

That is piss poor, especially as it meant I ended up screwing up my turn in an MP game and had to reload it. I was alwasy left mouse button, now it defaults to right and gave the wrong orders

In this case you have to reconfigure the mouse settings in the options preference menu. 1 or 2 button mouse actions and the mouse zoom (it has to go up). After that, all is almost normal again.

I've discovered that the "+" and "-" keys now control the zoom-in and zoom-out functions. I still can't get the mouse wheel to work. I suspect that this change was a result of adding the Console play mode.

It's working as it was, just go to the options and adjust the setting that was set to 0 in the update (by accident),

I see. You have to move the Mouse Zoom Speed slider to the right.
