Apologies if this has been discussed before

All of the core troops and ally troops are split for before and after a given date, but there are no differences otherwise
like you can't have it before this date or after that date????????

What am missing here??

Not misssing anything i think from 1291 to 1360 you can field all halberds and no Pikes. From any other date you follpw the minimums in the list.

Well, it says halberds before 1425 and from 1425 to 1490?
Pikes from1360-1421 and from 1422?

My question is, why list the split? why not just halberds up to 1490?

Because they have different minimums and maximums and they are different size Battlegroups

How come the allies can take handgunners before the main list? Or did I miss an errata?
