Carpet bombing calculation

Hello,
what is exact formula behind Strategic bombers carpet bombing ?

looks like attack and defense numbers doesn't matter,
only attacking unit experience and strength, and target unit ammo/movement stats matters (so one slot He 111Z will do same ammo/move reduction as best strat bombers (if they have same strength)).

Carpet Bombing reduces ammo and fuel of target by half of the current amount, it is indeed not related with any combat status. Those are only for damage calculation.

I'm 100% sure that this is not correct answer
1. amount of ammo and fuel reduced is depended on experience and strength of attacking strat. bomber,
2. half is not maximum reduction, I have seen many times ammo (or movement) reduced from 4/4 to 1/4.

since the manual only states that strategics are able to destroy ammo and fuel/movepoints and i am not able to grab the actual calculation from the game files, i can only offer what i have observed while playing pc2.

1. The Type of strategic has no influence afaik. a do17 will kill as many ammo/fuel/movepoints as a ta400 under the same circumstances.
2. the better the accuracy of the bombing strategic the more ammo/fuel/move will be removed. Recon and aiming assistance influence the result as well as experience of target and attacker afaik.
3. ammo/fuel/move can never be bombed to 0. the target will always have 1 left, no matter what.

inspired by your thread i payed more attention to the carpetbombing results.
heres my guess as to the math behind it.

in the first 2 bombings the strategic bomber did 2 hits and destroyed 1 ammo. in the 3rd one he did 4 hits and destroyed 2 ammo.
We alrdy established the "believe" that accuracy is the dominant factor and not the attack-stats of the bomber.
My guess is that 50% of the hits will destroy 1 ammo. i will take a better look at the move destruction when i play with higher level bombers. atm they max do just 1, so hard to say anything about that yet.

I also did some testing and I think I found exact (or close enough) formula

Per 1 strength reduction is 2% base + 1% per experience star,
so for example 10 strength 5 star bomber has 70% reduction of ammo and movement, rounded after that
maximum reduction leaves 1 ammo and 1 movement point, you can't go lower then that

usually maximum amount of reduction is at 5 stars (70%), depends on exact values (rounding),
overstrenght have quite significant effect on reduction, 3 stars bomber OS to 14 will do same reduction as 5 stars bomber

example:
you need max 3 ammo/movement reduction out of 4/4, that means due rounding you need at least 2.5 reduction which is 62.5%,
so those will do:
5 star strat bomber (10 strength) - 70%
4 star strat bomber (11 strength) - 66%
3 star strat bomber (13 strength) - 65%
