Aircraft & Dirt Airfields

How can you tell if an aircraft can use a dirt airfield? Additionally, if a specific aircraft cannot use a dirt airfield is there a way to mod the unit so that it can?
(I'm playing Storm over Europe and for some reason my tactical bombers cannot base or rebase to dirt airfields.)

strategics and jet planes cannot use dirt airfields. yes u can mod that but why would u?

My apologies, I should have been more specific. My propeller-driven tactical bombers (Stukas) cannot seem to use dirt airfields in clear, dry weather.

is there a flag on that airfield? if not it´s not active.
moverange of the plane is doubled when u want to move the plane to another airfield. is the field in range?

Is the airstrip full? I'm not sure how's things working in the mod but in vanilla a dirt airfield can only hold 5 aircraft while the large one can have 7.
If you capture an airfield with enemy aircraft based at it, the slot will be occupied by those until you kill them in this round or force them to rebase in the next round.

None of the above issues. Active airfields with no enemy aircraft based there. At scenario start, I can't even base my tactical bombers on dirt airfields. They are restricted to hard surface airfields for some reason.

So far all scenarios. I just finished the one where Guderian has to meet the Russians in Poland.

working fine. must be something specific to u. impossible to say what that might be.
