Hi,

The Order of Battle team and community have been working together over the past few weeks to test an update for the game that will upgrade the server software that the game runs on.

This will mean that any new features developed by the Slitherine engineers can be included in Order of Battle and it is going to be the first game that we trial out our updated Player Rankings with!

In order to test that we've updated the Tournament code correctly, we're organising an Open Beta Tournament!

In order to take part in this tournament you MUST use the Open Beta version of the game (currently v9.3.3).

The Open Beta is currently available on Steam and also as a Standalone Slitherine Installer version.

This is a test tournament so the rounds are intentionally short (we don't mind people not necessarily completing their games, it's good for us to test with!). The tournament settings are:

Start: Monday 22nd May
3 Rounds:
Bootcamp Battle - GBvsUSSR
Two Bridges
Peninsula Assault
Round Time : 7 Days per round

Only one question: can v.9.3.3 work under Win7?

I would expect so, we've not changed the game engine

Will the new Server help me play any better?

Hmm, I'm getting a connection error related to "player not in game"... I suspect this will affect everyone! We are investigating

Yep, so this is a "successful test".

It looks like Tournament games (and only tournament games) are being generated using the wrong pattern. We shall address this and report back.

My guess is that we'll have to kill and restart all games.

Hi Shards, Hi everyone. I have OoB installed... but I cant find the tournament.... How doesit work? Sorry but i'm rahter new at it.

I have installed beta version, entered the game... but then "connection error". What now?

Feel free to set up some games against other players in the beta. It'll take a little while for us to figure out exactly what's happened with the tournament games and get it set up again.

In summary, I think that this initial tournament might be D.E.A.D.

We know what the issue is and we're going to have a call with our server guys today to work out a solution.

And we've now deployed an update to the server, so we're going to go again on the Tournament tomorrow (2nd June)!

Do we have to sign on again?
