The current multiplayer beta version is: 9.3.3

You can access this via Steam or with a standalone installer.

To install via Steam, use these instructions:

1. Right-Click on the Order of Battle game in your list of games in the Steam Library
2. Select "Properties"
3. In the menu that appears, select the BETAS tab on the left
4. On this tab there is a text box underneath where it says : "Enter beta access code to unlock private betas"
5. Enter PBEMVersion3 into this box
6. Press the CHECK CODE button
7. You will receive a message that says "Access code correct, private beta 'multiplayerbeta' is now available."
8. Click the drop-down list directly above and you will see "closedbeta- DLC beta" as an option, Select this option.
9. You can now close the Preferences Menu
10. Steam should now automatically update your game to the Beta Branch. If it does not start automatically, click the Update button

To use the standalone Installer, download from this link:

Please send me a forum PM if you use the standalone installer and I can send you a serial key for one of the DLC's (which will therefore open up Multiplayer).

I'm getting "Beta access code invalid" when I click CHECK CODE.

The drop down for Betas only had a couple old versions

Which sadly reminded that I used to be able to play on my Mac :-\

edit: Should be working now:

Beta installed, but I get this error when launching the game.
My Steam installation worked fine before applying the beta (the path is correct)...
Edit: It looks like the beta update is removing the autorun.exe from the folder.

Thanks for the heads up! It works in my developer test branch, but not here... suspect the launch settings are wrong, investigating!

Any particular scenario you'd like us to use for testing?

Tried to join Celeborn's Double Dragons and Arctic Tug of War challenges but got "pbem_error_401" on both

Also, would not let me set up a challenge for Germans or Soviets on Dubno. Just timed out, went back to All Games view without my challenges listed. All I can see is Celeborn's two challenges. No other info provided.

Perfect, this is why we do tests! Would you be able to try hosting some of your own, see if that works? I can see that Erik has picked up Celeborn's games.

I'm going to get a link to the log files location added to the new launcher, we've added a chunk of extra logging to that file to help us track this stuff down

I've put a passworded challenge up, just so that there's always something in the list

Your Crescent Bay challenge has a password. Intended, as in you don't want certain players like me to join ?

Erik and I have several challenges going smoothly.
Only problem so far is you have to hit the refresh button each time you come back to the game list because the list comes up blank every time you return to it.

Hmm, I don't get that behaviour....

Could you send a log file from after a session where you get that?

I've had the blank game list a couple of times. Need to log out/in to multiplayer.
I have attached the output_log.

Hmm, that log seems to be from September 2022...

For some reason I have 2 Steam folders, so that log was probably from an old installation.
I'll check the date next time...
