I thought that the Elamite Battle Cars (carts) were wagons crewed by archers who were transported during a battle but dismounted to shoot on foot. They were early dragoons or motorized infantry. In the Swifter Than Eagles DLC they are spear armed chariots.

We are following thje FOGAM tabletop army list (in the "Lost Scrolls" army list book). That has the famous battle carts not coming in till 1500 BC, and before that early chariots with light spear until 1800 BC, and bow thereafter.

If you have evidence to the contrary, please let us know.

I was just wondering. A friend of mine has an Elamite miniatures army, and I remember it having a lot of archers who traveled the battlefield in donkey drawn wagons, but fought dismounted. It was a different rules set and army list.

Well that is what the Elamtie "chariots" represent from 1500 BC. We chose to represent them a chariots like other chariots who habitually dismounted to fight - like Ancient British and probably Mycenaean.

Considering that the word "car" has such modern connotations, what about calling them battle carts or maybe battle wagons? Just kind of jarring to see them called battle cars.

If you don't like the term "battle car" then you would hate another rule set that calls them "battle taxis".
