				I'd say 650pts would be best.  
Anything less would not leave many points for 'optional troops' after paying for the compulsories.

Hello, Certainly, but with +50% width with 28mm bases it will be difficult. 
Logically it would be necessary to remove between a quarter and a third of the budget to be able to maneuver. Even if it means reducing the minima by a quarter or a third.

True, but before working out what a 1/4 or 1/3 is you'd need to remove the equivalent cost of your commanders.
That's normally about 100pts, so the starting value of the fighting troops is 700pts rather than 800pts.
So losing 1/4 would be 175pts - leaving you with an army of 625pts
