Field of Glory Empires was a fun game, but it was really disappointing that they didn't include later start dates/scenarios.
I was waiting for starts like Marius vs Sulla vs Mithridates or the Second Punic War

Hope this new game gets more post-release expansions

There will be from the start more scenarios in Kingdoms, and even more planned :)

The El Cid campaign highlighted on the Next stream really got my interest! Should be a fun short campaign.

I’ve made two mods (links in bold below) for Empires:

A Deadly Alliance (ADA), about the First Triumvirate starting in 58 BCE.

The West is No More (TWiNM), starting in 476 CE after the fall of the Roman West.

In case you want try out something different.

Philippe: you still need to market Empires and its potential and mods more extensively. :)

Please do that. And let me know what you think: there’s always potential room for improvement.

And there’s a third mod coming up: Dividing the Spoils (DiSp), set in 323 BCE after the death of Alexander the Great.

Looks like I'm too late to sign up for the beta. Shame.

It's been discussed before, but the way population/food reserves (and arguably all of the resource reserves) boom over the course of the game distorts long campaigns a bit in Empires. The aforementioned mods seem to try to fix this, a bit, by making building slots limited. My personal preference would be to try to model urban vs. rural population and production a bit more precisely so that some natural population limits (and booms and busts) emerge.

You can still apply for the beta, since nothing has been announced so far. I was gonna suggest that same thing myself (I have a couple of ideas on how to achieve that, but first I want to see if Kingdoms works the same way as Empire or not).

The opening of the beta is imminent and we are setting up stuff as I speak, Installer, Beta Forum, etc.

Soon, people selected for the first batch of testing will get an email. Don't despair if you are not part of this round, there will be another.
