can not get the game to play. can load into the main menu, start a game, make a wizard, choose a race, then the loading screen comes up, the progress bar fills and nothing. was able to load into the map by choosing Sssr'a then when hit end turn it hung on enemy's turn.

Uninstalled and reinstalled. Get a ".NET Framework 4.7.2 or later update is already installed on this computer."

Checked for updates and get "Client Script, Line 24:3 arguments required."

Encounter the same problems: update does not work, sometimes game does not start after everything is chosen. At the latest 1st turn freeze in enemys turn. Version 1.0.6 from slitherine. Beta from Steam worked very good.

I have a similar problem. Sometimes game doesn't start. Managed to get the game running but now it freezes when I try to load a saved game, both custom and autosave. Also, update button doesn't work.

Actually running the game with admin checked on the launcher seems to have fixed the problem, all good now.

Running as admin works for me as well but for the update problem.
